Shahid Hemu Kalani

Hemu Kalani, born on 23th March 1923, in sukkur now in Pakistan, a Sindhi revolutionary & freedom fighter during the Independence movement. He was leader of Swaraj Sena, a student organisation which was affiliated with All India students Federation (AISF) He was just just 18years old when he was caught red-handed, imprisoned and tortured for attempting to loosen the fixing of railway tracks @ Karachi & this forgotten freedom fighter was hanged in Sukkur Jail on 21st January 1943. Sindhu Darshan paying a tribute to a young Martyr Hemu Kalani who sacrificed his life for the freedom of Hindustan….JAI HIND.

Diwali Celebration 2016

Diwali or (Deepavali) is one of the India’s biggest festivals & is celebrated by Hindhus, Sindhis, Sikhs, jains & Buddhists alike. This five day celebration begins two days earlier than Diwali called Dhanteras & two days after Diwali is called Bhai Dooj .
It is a festival of lights. During this five day festival, people light up their houses and Business with Diyas(small cup shaped oil lamps made of baked clay) & fireworks.
This festival is celebrated in the Hindu month of kartika which falls during October/November & is marked as the return of Lord Rama from 14 years of exile & his victory over Demon Ravan (SACH TA BEDO NACH)
The Hindus worshop Lord Ganesha & Goddess Lakshmi on this auspicious occasion. Diwali is official holiday in India, Nepal, Srilanka, Singapore, Malaysia & infact celebrated in 139 countries of the world where sindhis are located in numbers

Aayo Lal Sabai Chao Jhulela. Chaliho sindh festival is one the most celebrated festival which actually and eventually is 40 day long fasting days. These 40 days are reveredly celebrated with all dedication to Sindhi Isht Devta water God Bhagwan Jhulelal.
The tradition is as old as the existence of sindhi community. It starts in the mid of july & end of August During these 40 days morning and evenings prayer is made at all round the world in Pujya Jhulelal mandirs with recitation of Panjada (devotional songs dedicated to Lord Jhulelal)
After completing chaliho fast days, grand procession of Bahrano Sahib in taken out from temples of all sindhis to the shores of nearby river where Akho and Sesa is offered to GOD.
Chalio is a thanks-giving celebration in honor of Varuna Dev & Jhulelal for
listening to their prayers.

HOLI – CELEBRATION !!Sindhu Darshan showing a colourful Holi program from Bahrain, Jakarta, Spain, Delhi, &Mumbai!!

A day before the colourful Holi, Holika Dahan takes place inthe month of Falgun ( March) by the people of Hindu Religiion. Next day Holi the most famous festival of colors is celebrated year after year throughout India & Abroad. It is celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm as it brings feeling of love & closeness among Hindu & Sindhi community.
Colourful colours are spread out by the people over each other, handshake, hug & apply abeer on the forehead of each other. As per out Hindu Sindhi culture we sing religious or so called Fagua filme & non filmi songs with especial musical instruments like dholak & kirtal. At this special day we eat special things the most important being “Gheer” & Halwa.
